What type of job are you looking for?
I am looking for a steady, administrative or managerial job. I am computer savvy, a fast typist, am familiar with both Mac and PCs, have worked as a personal assistant, office assistant, and am currently the office manager for a law firm in New Jersey. My real passion is for writing, and I freelance for several newspapers and magazines here as well. I plan on also seeking freelance writing jobs in the Dominican Republic upon my arrival.

English is my native language. I speak Spanish fairly well; I lived in Costa Rica for five months last year and learned quite a bit through immersion.

I am looking for employment in Cabarete or that general area because that is where I am going to be living. Also because I want to learn how to kite board.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?
I believe it depends on the person and circumstance. For me personally, the skills I have honed in life seem to serve me better than any formal education has.

Cleaning human feces off of a bathroom wall on Christmas Eve when I was a teenager working at a supermarket

I am a very good writer, a skilled kite flier, and have an eye for unique seashells.

As an assistant, I like to be able to keep details in order for the people I work for, learn their habits and preferences, and anticipate their needs.
What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
Preparing mailings, answering phones
Why do you want to relocate to the Dominican Republic?
Because I love learning more Spanish, I want to learn to kite board, I love the beach, I love to travel, and a friend of mine has a condo in Cabarete that he needs someone to rent and I want that someone to be me.
