Seeking teaching positionWhat type of job are you looking for? I have been a New York City Public School teacher for 14 years and am seeking a teaching position in Punta Cana. What nationality are you? American What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Punta Cana Dominican Republic. What countries have you worked in? Untied States What countries do you have a visa to work in? None at this time. What field do you currently work in? I am a NYC school teacher. Presently I am teaching 8th grade English. I have taught 3rd grade, 5th grade and small group reading instruction. What fields have you worked in before? Nursery school teacher. What qualifications do you hold? I have a Masters in Education, specializing in Reading. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skill is essential to being a successful teacher, however formal ongoing education is also very important. Describe the benefits of working with others I love being a teacher! For me it is the best possible job. I find it energizing, rewarding and challenging. Describe the benefits of working alone I prefer not working alone. What was your worst working experience? It is difficult when a student is struggling and has fallen so far behing that they have given up on themselves. I try to rekindle their faith in themselves. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Never to give up on any student, no matter the circumstances. What unique skills do you have? I am very energetic, determined, artistic and well read. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Teaching in a beautifull place where I am needed. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Everyday is different, I get so much from each of th students and to see their excitement when they learn something is THE BEST! What are the least interesting aspects of your field? I find it difficult to deal with the systems in NYC that are over seen by people that don't know about education.
