English language teachingWhat type of job are you looking for? I am looking for an English teaching position in Guayaquil Ecuador. I love to teach and want to use my qualifications to work in what inspires me. What nationality are you? British. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English as my native tongue. I also speak Spanish fluently. I also speak Italian. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking for work in Guayaquil, Ecuador as I worked there last year and had a great experience. The trip was cut short and I wish to return. What countries have you worked in? I have worked as an English teacher in England, Spain, India and Ecuador. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I have permission to work work without a visa in Europe. I also have a Visa valid for South America. What field do you currently work in? Customer services administration. Private teaching. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in many sectors. I have experience teaching, administration, secretarial, child care, accounts and waitressing. What qualifications do you hold? I have a BA Hons degree in Applied linguistics and Hispanic studies. I also have the TEFL qualification. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I belive that both are important. Formal qualifications with no life experience is unaplicable. Skills are also hard to apply in society without formal qualifications. I myself value life experience but have also found that my qualfications are serving their purpose in my professional life. Describe the benefits of working with others It is great to work as part of a team as it allows for interactional learning and gives participants to share and be considerate. Working in groups allow dynamic discussions. I enjoy working as part of a group but I also like to flexible and enjoy independent tasks. Describe the benefits of working alone Working indipendently allows for descovery of ones own potential. What was your worst working experience? I dont really have one. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt that gimmicks are not as valuable as honesty. It always pays to be polite. It is important to remain reliable and professional at all times. What unique skills do you have? I am patient and considerate. I will always go out of my way to help someone and I am a good comunicator. My students have always said that I explain well. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I love learning about new cultures so my dream job would be one where I could teach as that is my chosen profession and also be able to travel and learn about new people and places. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? I really enjoy watching the learning process. Second language aquisition is an interesting field. I like getting to know my students. Teaching is a people friendly job and teaching people makes me happy. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Paper work!!!! But its a small price for something you like. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I want to be a specialist in my field.
