Looking for nursing jobs

What type of job are you looking for?

Nursing jobs such as community nursing or public health nursing.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English at work and in school. Mother tongue when at home,

What State are you looking to work in and why?

American Samoa. I just love the place as one of my friend has been there as a care giver.

What field do you currently work in?

Clinic nurse in a health care centre.

What fields have you worked in before?

Worked as public health community nursing for the last 15yrs

What qualifications do you hold?

Bachelor Nursing Science Post Basic certificate in Public Health. Diploma in Nursing

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Both formal education and skills because it helps me personally in upgrading my knowledge and my services to the communities I served.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I learned from their experience, skills and knowledge and make works easier when there are a lot of hands to do the work.

Describe the benefits of working alone

I learned to managed my cases alone with my own judgment, management, advice and prioritize my work according to the different patients that I attended to and that is where I gained more confidence on my work,

What was your worst working experience?

When I was posted out to a nursing station in the interior of Vitilevu in the Fiji Islands and worked alone with out a doctor for 4yrs 8 months. This is after 1yr as an intern at the base hospital after graduation. And that is where I gained more confidence on my work and decision making on cases that I came across.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Be confident, do not panic, Attend to all patient with a patience.Treat them well without harsh tone and always give a SMILE as they enter your door.After all Nursing is a noble profession with a heart full of love and service.

What unique skills do you have?

Communication skills, counseling, advising and report making

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

To be a lecturer in a medical field especially in public health nursing. To be a director nursing one day.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Serving the communities daily and treat their complaints at grass root level before referring them to hospital.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Non but I would say that washing of my own linens used at the clinic at the end of the days/weeks.

What is your most interest field in nursing?

I loved public health and community nursing to be honest.
