HARD WORKING, MOTIVATED, FRIENDLY and DEDICATED What type of career are you looking for? A fun and outgoing yet professional place where I can showcase my unique potential. Someplace that will allow me to stand out from the crowd and show customers the true meaning of VACATION! What makes me............ ME? I am from the conservative city of Cincinnati. Born December 5th 1981 I am Caucasian with an Irish decent. As the youngest of three kids I was considered the baby of the family, which made me who I am today; hard working and determined to be the best at anything I attempt. I pay close attention to detail and enjoy showing people a great time. How many languages can you speak? I can speak English the goodest :) As for any other language...... I took Spanish in high school. What ever language is needed to get a job in Fiji I will go out of my way to be great at it, to show the customers we want the to feel as comfortable as possible. Why do you want to work in Fiji? Why not!! Fiji would be the ultimate destination career. People work their entire lives to retire in a place like Fiji, why not spent you entire life working in a place like Fiji. You only live once, might as well make the most of it. If I could find a great company with great standards I would spend my life making other peoples experiences memorable. That would be a great gift. What countries have you worked in? I have only worked in the United States. What countries do you have a visa to work in? If a job opportunity opened in Fiji a Visa would be my next step. What field do you currently work in? I currently work in Hospitality at a country club. I started in the restaurant working in the kitchen learning recipes and what makes food taste so good. Working in the kitchen schooled me on how to explain food when I transferred to the waiting staff. That gave me the skills to explain to the customer in better detail what he/she was ordering. There I managed events such as weddings, rehearsals, receptions, fundraisers and other banquets. Managed inventory and staff and helped keep the operation running smoothly. What qualifications do you hold? I have many skills. Hospitality Serving staff Sous Chef Manager Metalworker Woodworker Painter Ceramics All around Handyman Sports Kayaking Skiing Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? This is actually a trick question because with skills comes education. The more you actually do yourself the more you are educated. But as for a former education versus skills? I would take the skills any day. There are few people who can learn everything in a classroom setting. Most learn from actually ding the work, this is why most schools are requiring a mandatory co-op program before the student can graduate, it is a proven method of learning. Describe the benefits of working with others The benefits are learning to work with a team. If everyone was trying to out do everyone else then things will not get done right. It is much more efficient to work together to accomplish a task, in the end everyone wins when the customers are coming back and saying great things about the business. This leads to more revenue happier employees and an all around greater business. Describe the benefits of working alone none, It gets lonely:( What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience was when I worked construction for a small company in a really bad part of town. Working outside in the cold for people who didn't care what they did was not a good experience. I take pride in my work because everything I do has my name on it and I want it to be appreciated. This experience taught me what I didn't want to do when I grew up, so in a way it was a good experience. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important lesson is to be proud of what you do, no matter if you pick up garbage or run a 5 star hotel. What you do makes you who you are. What unique skills do you have? I have the ability to weed out problems and determine the solutions. I am great working with people, organizing, self motivated and proud of everything I accomplish. I'm not afraid to try new things and I believe there is always a more efficient way to solve a problem. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be to be a philanthropist. To have enough income to travel the world and help build houses, schools hospitals and anything else to give people an opportunity to succeed. I just enjoy helping people. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? At my current position the member of the Golf Club are like an extended family. You get to know them on a personal level and the become family, this is so interesting because it take away from the fact that it still is a job. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Little things like inventory and stocking. These jobs get monotonous but are apart of every job, even the greatest. Why should we hire you over all the other canidates? I cannot say I am better than everyone else at everything, because I'm not. I don't know everything and I do make mistakes from time to time, but what I lack in knowledge I can make up in determination. I an determined to be great at everything I do. I love teaching people and working with them to show them what I know, and I love learning and being taught everything I don't know. Although this interview might not portray it but I am a very modest person, but I do know myself and what I am capable of and I know I can do this and be a great part of any company; I just need the opportunity.
