Seeking Teaching job in FijiWhat type of job are you looking for? HI, I am a recent college grad, TEFL certified and seeking a teaching job in Fiji. I would love to volunteer and teach if possible. I will be arriving in Fiji then end of July and would love a contact before I arrive. What nationality are you? I am from the United Stated, white caucasian. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking to work in Fiji and or volunteer. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in Costa Rica while I receiving my TEFL certification. What field do you currently work in? I am currently bartend while looking for a teaching opportunity. What fields have you worked in before? I have bartended, coached cheerleading and basketball for summer camps and sales work. What qualifications do you hold? I am a college grad, fun, easy to get along with and eager for an adventure. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education is the most important because you can not make up for a proper education no matter where you have lived or what jobs you have had. A child that knows one field in and out can not substitute for a child who knows no particular field but has an education. The child with the education can survive and succeed far better because they have social opportunity to work well with others, adults, their own peers. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others is life. You have to work well with others to succeed in life and everything you do. You need this easy skill to do everything from living with a room mate to projects at work and school to planning a wedding for your sister. Every task in life you need this skill. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone has its benefits. You can work at your own pace, use only your own utter most creativity and you do not have to answer or agree with any one else. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience was in college. I was home for a summer and my mother suggested that I do some extra work before heading back to school. All i had to do was clean houses with some ladies that my mom knew around town. I did a few houses and it wasnt the worst job in the world, not what i was going to college for but it worked. Then we pulled up to my best friends house, a subdivision only a couple away from our house in the country. I had to walk around cleaning my friends families house, cleaning her room, kitchen, toilet, everything. Her Dad came home while I was cleaning the laundry room and I quickly realized that I must stay in college if I wanted a real career for myself. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important lesson that I have learned is that you must treat people , no matter if they are the maid or the president, all the same: With respect and manners. You say please and thank you and smile all the same to everyone. What unique skills do you have? I am a twin and I can pretty much handle anything. I have played sports my whole life and am extremely competitive with everything I do. I work well with everyone and have never been fired from a job!! ( I think thats a great skill) What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be to write for a Travel magazine and travel the world writing articles and blogs about the places I have been and seen. I would love to be an editor for "Lets Go" travel books. I love those books...its traveling on a budget. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspects of my field is that I get to teach new people and children who are eager to learn a new language. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The least interesting aspects of my field is that I will have to teach possible kids or adults that do not want to learn and that is sad because there are people all over the world without the opportunity of an education. Why are you certified to teach in Fiji? I am certified to teach in Fiji because I have graduated from college, received my TEFL certification, traveled enough to know street smarts, and have an amazing personality that cant wait to teach!! How can potential employers contact you? Lowrybrittany@gmail.com my cell phone number is 361-249-8264 (and I do not know the country code) |
