What type of job are you looking for?

An employment opportunity within the Hospitality Industry, preferably hotels and/or resorts.

What nationality are you?

Mexican-French

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Spanish- Mother toungue English- Fluent (Written & Spoken) French- Advanced (Written & Spoken)

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Helsinki, Finland.

What countries have you worked in?

Mexico and the People's Republic of China

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

Mexico, Europe and presently the People's Republic of China.

What field do you currently work in?

Food & Beverage department in a 5-star Hotel property.

What fields have you worked in before?

Food & Beverage, Reservations, Concierge and Front Desk.

What qualifications do you hold?

SHA and BBA.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills, because they are the ones that make you achieve the goals set by the company as for your personal life. In my opinion, you can have a rich education but if you do not fulfill the skills required for the job than the education received would be of no use.

Describe the benefits of working with others

You learn from other people, open your mind as understand different cultures, giving you the opportunity to obtain more ideas as many minds are working together.

Describe the benefits of working alone

You make decisions easier at work since you do not have anyone who can discuss or disagree with what you think is the correct way of doing it, moreover you have no distractions and you work at your own pace.

What was your worst working experience?

I have never had a worst experience, from all of them I have learned something and problems at work would never disappear, depends of each of us to take the good from the bad and outcome the best way from every situation presented at work.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

That complaints and problems at work would never end, however is the way you are what makes a good work environment and brings a good service to the guest. Moreover, this career gives you the opportunity to work in any part of the world, therefore understand cultural clash and getting to know different people who always help in your field.

What unique skills do you have?

Positivism, hard worker, ability to work with others and capable of unify a team at every moment. Furthermore, I feel sensitive and sociable enough to always treat the guest the way they expect and make them feel special during their stay.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job is just in the one I feel complete, learn everyday something new do not follow a routine and learn from other people as people can learn from me. However, it is the hospitality industry you will need to follow certain standards that could be consider as routine, which does not bother me at all, is part of a discipline which I like.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The challenges of dealing with different guest situations on a daily basis and the importance of the outcome of these situations. Balancing hotel interests and guests interests.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Housekeeping, Room Service or small areas of the hotel such as Cafe or gift shop.
