Painter looking for a job in rebuilding haiti

What type of job are you looking for?

Painting

What nationality are you?

American

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English--very good Spanish--just a little

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Haiti, I feel that with what happened there, they are going to need experienced workers of all professions to help them rebuild their country. Plus, With the way that the economy is here in USA, I doubt that I will be back to work any time soon.

I would also like to have a job here in Fl. Sarasota to be exact.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None at the moment, but I am willing to get one if neccessary.

What field do you currently work in?

Painter--25yrs.

What fields have you worked in before?

Drywall--3yrs. Electrical--1yr. cook--1yr.

What qualifications do you hold?

25 years of painting has given me all of the qualification that I need.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Well, I believe it is important to have both. A well educated person has the knowledge and knowhow to further themself better. And a skilled person has the training and on the job experience to get the job done right and with the utmost of safety in mind.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Friendship is the number one benefit. Along with learning things that you may not know. Aswell as teaching someone something that they might not know.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Lonelyness---(but thats not a benefit) It could be possible that you would be able to get each job done quicker. However, I feel that it is better to work with others than it is alone.

What was your worst working experience?

Working at a fast food restaurant.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Gratitude---I feel that it is very important to a job with the hightest quality possible. So that the customer is pleased with what you have provided. If they are 100% satisfied, Then that makes my job well worth it.

What unique skills do you have?

Well, I guess you could say that I have a green thumb. I love to do gardening with house plants and vegetables. I also build and paint homemade birdhouses.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

All I ever wanted to do is paint. I love to transform a homeowners house into what they have invisioned it to be.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Being able to meet a variety of cultures and very interesting people.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Having to deal with people who drink alcohol on the job. Or with someone who says that they have experience and come to find out that they don't.

How do you handle a unsatisfied customer?

First I would find out why they are not satisfied. Then I would do everything within my power to correct the problem. However, In the past 25 years and thousands of customers. I have had only 3 people that were not satisfied. (In the end though, they were satisfied)
