| I need financial help for college but dont qualify for anything! Any suggestions I am trying to go to nursing school so my husband is working 2 jobs to make ends meet. I have applied for financial aid for the Pell Grant and got denied because of our income. Its not like we are making tons of money. We are a honest family who pays our bills and does without most things to make sure we are not late on bills. I applied for a program at my school called WIA and was told it would not be based on income but after sitting through an orienation and taking a test which took up a whole day for me, I got denied b/c of income. Out of 27 people taking the test I was one of 7 who made it. I emailed financial aid and asked about student loans or other scholarships but the financial advisor says they dont participate in student loans. I guess there are no scholarships either. I do get Hope Grant through the state of Georgia and that pays my tuition and $65 toward books. To begin this next quarter my books are $600 and supplies and uniforms are $800. Any suggestions? |
