| A thing you might want to check out is working in Europe, as a skilled tradesman, as there is a guild thing in several countries as they don't have Building Control, and you sign work off yourselves. As an Example Bricklaying in Denmark, (short flight from Stanstead on Ryan Air to Billund), requires a MasterMason certificate, which is not listed on the EU registered proffesions list (which it should be). If you lay a brick in Denmark without it, you could actually be breaking the law ! Not sure on Germany, but I think lads I had working for me in the UK, had to pay a German Bricky to sign off their work, he would obviously charge a fortune. Under the 2005 EU Directive, if you have Qualifications, or sufficient experience, they have to recognise your trade. Search Google for "recognition of professional qualifications europe", and then click on the link in the main body of text saying "general system". I write this as you get paid more in Denmark than in Germany, lots of small builds, and the weather is pretty good - don't bother with the winter its dark, and wet ! JG |

| "plasterer"
HelloI am a Plasterer and have worked in Germany in the 90's, if any of you brickies out there know of a firm who wants a Plasterer who can use sand/cement/lime by hand(internal) then i am your man, 50 to 60 sq metres a day 1/1 would be a good days work with a top quality finish. 35 years experience, my german is a little rusty but will return. Thanks Paul Wharton |
