To my mind formal education is more valuable because formal education is the foundation on which skills can be built. There are skills that cannot be acquired without a formal education. For example it will be dangerous to teach surgical skills to someone who is not educated in basic human anatomy. Formal education also give expresion to skills and enable someone to be creative and innovative. However, formal education without skills will not be useful. In other words the two are not mutually exclusive but are rather complementary. Someone who is educated must endeavour to acquire and develop his/her skills. Describe the benefits of working with others The popular saying that two good minds are better than one is essential here. The benefits of working with others can be classified as a) Personal: these are the benefits the person gains by working with others; Opportunity for correction and personal improvement The people you work with might help you to identify your mistakes thus offering you the chances to correct such mistakes on time before much damage is done. They might also help you to identify the areas of your weaknesses where you need improvement. b) Corporation: these are benefits to the corporation where you work Work may be accomplished faster, better and much more comprehensively with more hands. The number of client served over a period of time will be much more if more people are involved than if one person were to do the same work. The waiting time of clients will also be drastically reduced thereby improving client satisfaction. A team work also bring diversity, creativity and innovation into the work place. This enriches the experiences of the individual team members and make them better. On the contrary, both the person and corporation can be badly affected. Poorly managed team can create problems. There could be arguements, disagreement, delays and an unhealthy competition. This create a negative work environment that demotivate the members of the team. A demotivated team will produce low quality product and or service. This will in turn leads to client dissatisfaction. The person may suffer pain and quarels. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone eliminates the distractions that is inherent in a team allowing you to be focus. There is little or no time wasted in conflict resolutions. The pain that comes from arguements, misunderstanding and competition is totally eliminated. One person can be held for the success or failure of the work. This is not often possible in a team work .
