I can speak English Twi Ga and Krobo very well and a little bit of Ewe What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Ghana because all my field works have being here in Ghana as well as my experiences.I also think that the local languages especially Twi which is the commonest language in Ghana will make a great impact in the field work. What countries have you worked in? Ghana is the only country i have worked in so far. What countries do you have a visa to work in? At the moment i do not have a visa to any country. What field do you currently work in? I recently ended my National Service with Ghana Education Service in Sambolgo Junior High in Bongo District Upper East region Ghana. What fields have you worked in before? Ghana Education Service What qualifications do you hold? Degree In Integrated Devolopement Studies with Development Communication as an option. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills is more valuable to me because me for instance through skills in my research work(community service)in University For Development Studies i now have the confidence to work with people in a group and now have a fair knowledge of what research work entails as well as the benefits of involving the voices of the grass root people in decision making. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with people in a group helps one to acquire new ideas as to how to approach issues also one learns to be tolerant and also learns to listen to others views as he or she expects that his or her opinions be accepted by other members. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone avoids contradictions of opinions from other group members which enables fast work. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience was during my national service period i when was faced with language barrier in Sambolgo junior high. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Ilearnt that certain perceptions in the south about the northerners is false because they are very good at hospitality and more especially when i got down to their level and tried to understand them i gained their cooperation i was able to live peacefully with them. What unique skills do you have? I am a goal achiever and able to work under pressure.I am able to tolerate people when working in a group. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to become a field supervisor. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspect of my field is the one on one interview with the interviewees especially with the illiterates and the ignorants who demand funny items like football and drums before providing us with informations. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Some people prove very difficult such that getting informations from them is not easy and makes the work tough and also slows down the speed level of the research work and when this happens the assembly man or the chief or the opinion leaders need to come in to address the situation. In which way can a researcher gain quick and reliable responses in research work? In this way the researcher must engage him/herself in what is known as participant observation whereby the researcher does not only observe but also come down to the level of the community members and participates with them in various activities.He/she needs to accept and appreciate the culture of the people and avoid discrimination or making them feel that their culture is not better off.The researcher should respect the views and prioritised neeeds and avoid imposing ideas on them.In this case he/she will gain cooperation and reliable responses from them.
