Spanish and English (native/bilingual) French(intermediate)

Gibraltar. I want to continue developing my career here as the System of Education is the same as in the UK where I have worked as a qualified teacher for 10 years.

The UK and Spain

Countries belonging to the European Union

Teaching languages

What fields have you worked in before?

Teaching and translation

What qualifications do you hold?

BA Hons in English Language Master in Contemporary HIspanic Studies PGCE in Languages (Spanish with French

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

For me formal educationa and skills are equally important since we need education to help us acquire certain skills.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I like being part of a team to learn from people and share experiences and expertise. I am a good listener and I also like making my own contributions when the occasion demands.

Describe the benefits of working alone

You are in control of your workload and have more time to think and develop new ideas and work at your own pace.

What was your worst working experience?

I don't have a bad work experience however if I am asked where I prefer to work in the UK or Spain my answer is the UK or countries that follow the Bristish Education System as I think it has more to offer to both students and teachers.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Knowing people and situations better before jumping into rushed conclusions

What unique skills do you have?

I am patient, ambitious, loyal and can work well under pressure

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Have a leadership role in a school, e.g Head of Departmene, Deputy Head, etc.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The ability to teach languages so important in the multicultural world we are living in nowadays as well as their sociocultural aspects.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

The paper work that comes to the job and has nothing to do with teaching.

Why did you become a teacher?

I find this job very rewarding and from which I learn something new everyday. In addition it is very encouraging to see how students learn things thanks to you, you are the person who is teaching them what they know. That is the best feeling I have ever had
