If you really want to have a great summer season together with a great job, do not try Princess hotel in Kefalonia island, Greece. The place is run by a family of neurotic women who will do everything to ruin your self-esteem and personality altogether, unless you quit beforehandof course. I have worked for them last season (2005) for 2 months and this period was absolutely disasterous. I had to change a job place because I couldn't take it anymore. By and large, the great impressions of summer season in sunny Greece were hugely spoilt because of the time I spent working for these people. Be careful and choose your employer very accurately, although most of them seem quite ok in the beginning and only later it turns out what you got yourself into. Most employers in Greece won't give you any medical insurance or put you on an employment contract, which in fact they are obligated to do regardless of your origin. They will also try to cheat on you in terms of payment, especially on a monthly basis. The safest way is to get paid after every working shift, otherwise you risk to finish the month of working as a mule without seeing a euro, or seeing twice as less as you were supposed to get. My employer at Princess Hotel motivated it by "withdrawing certain amount for mistakes at work place"... In a nut shell, keep your eye wide - very wide - open when coming to work to Greece. Be prepared for many unpleasant moments if you are honest and hardworking person - you will be used a lot for a very low wage. Not the best country to earn money, though summer can be really great when you work for the right person.
