I am looking for job of Ship repair & new ship building, project execution at site, Heavy structural & fabrication, Pipe lines, Mechanical items installation, commissioning & overhauling. In management levelposition i am looking for it. As i am working as a ship repair manager for last 20 years, i shall continue this position or above it in future. What field do you currently work in? At present i am working as a Ship repair manager at a shipyard at Bahrain ( Ship repair, new ship building, Steel, Pipe, Mechanical, Estimation etc ) What fields have you worked in before? Ship yard related any job ( Ship repair, new ship building, design, steel, Pipe, Estimation, Quality control, Mechanical machinaries, Cranes ), Steel plant ( Conveyor belting, Mini blast furnace, cooling tower, Heat treatment plant, Chimney etc ) What qualifications do you hold? First class degree holder in Mechanical engineering from a reputed indian university. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education is the base & skill wll be developed easily. Skill required upto some level for execution of job. But interacting with others formal education is highly required otherwise whatever skill achieved can not be exposed to others in proper way. For an easy example Worker can build up anything followed by drawing or instruction. But when it comes to operation stage or function to be clarified to others then formal education is required. These two items are both sides of a same coin. Without any one of this, coin is not ready to be used in market. Describe the benefits of working with others The main benefit of working with others is that as a team if anyone has any weak point other team members can cover it up & goal can be achieved. Anybody can make mistake as a human being, but team members will make him alert before & this thing will be rectified as a team effort. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone the main benefit is that whatever skill having the final result is fully goes to his credit. The person should be highly confident for the job what he is executing alone. Both success & failures to be absorbed. This working alone has the main advantage that he can perform the job in his own way, without disturbed from other & getting full satisfaction felt as a special achievement, which can not be enjoyed working as a team. What was your worst working experience? In one case the boss was not fully aware of jobs in root level requirements. In this case either boss has to depend on subordinates or to understand the job first. So whatever i was telling always he rejected, but in future he was proved that he was not correct. But to maintain the prestige he started misbehaving. This time was my worst time. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Always to be straight to juniors & seniors. Any problem or mistakes to be discussed with concerned people freely without any prejudice. Lot of times junior people can give better solution & methods. Provided they also to be given respect for their valuable proposals & comments. What unique skills do you have? Without any position or educational qualification vanity i can share my job experiencewith co workers, explaining the team spirit, giving him the confidence that his promlem of executing the job i shall involve myself to give him relief from severe tension. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to start the project from enquiry/quotation stage, executing the job as per technical specification, handing over the full project to the owner after completion. After commissining when the project gets motion of doing the functions as per requirement this is a special feeling of achievement which is beyond expression. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Not to be strained in job or life. Then nothing will be achieved. To become normal & cool, whatever things may happen to be prepared to resist or solve them before. To keep faith on god & trying to give the best output honestly. Balance part god will take care. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? To cheat anybody either in workfield or in life. Whatever the thing should fe faced bravely. To safe guard the situation nobody should blame to other man. In this way in future he will be completely alone in life. I have huge experience in ship repair & new ship construction 28 years in india, Europe, Africa, Gulf shipyards. At present i am working as a ship repair manager in a famous ship repair yard at Bahrain from 2004. I am a first class degree holder in mechanical engineer from a reputed Indian university. I have experience in any type of shipyard related jobs on top of Ship repair & new ship construction, like commercial jobs ( Marine estimation, invoicing, sub contraction, Quality control & safe working procedure installation if not existing ). For Ship repair, i carried out ( Cargo, bulk carrier, gas carrier, VLCC tankers, dredgers, off shore vessel. Rigs, Crane berge, tanker, autobile carrier landing craft, US NAVY & US coast guard including Bahrain & Indian Navy ships etc ) For new ship construction i have made new ships starting from lofting at loft room, keel bar or keel plate laying with frames, floors, bulkheads, deck plates construction, but for big size ship i have followed block construction seperately like Forward peak compartment, chain locker, forward crew accommodation, engine room, pump room & steering gear room seperately & assemblying them with alignment & welding back. Super structures also i have fabricated seperately including main deck, boat deck, fore castle deck, poop deck, accommodation deck, bridge deck & monkey island & installing the prefabricated block structures on main frame structure, aligning & welding.
