Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?
Formal education and skills are both valuable, because through education is the foundation of our knowledge and the way to enhance it (or ourselves) is to apply it (knowledge) in actual practice. In this sense, that knowledge becomes part of our being and it will be carried on through the rest of lives.
Education, formal or informal, is a never ending process, followed by the skills (or in some cases, vice-versa). Together, they play a very important role of who we are today.
Describe the benefits of working with others
The benefit of working with others is TEAMWORK. Jobs like nursing require the hands (or ideas, etc.) of not just one health care provider. The success in nursing care is the result of collaborative efforts in order to be effective and efficient in carrying out the duties and responsibilities.
Describe the benefits of working alone
In some cases, a person may need some space in order to FOCUS, re-align himself and his thoughts to get things started or get things done.
There are some cases where the job requires only one person; and having others around will make him loose his concentration.
This may also apply to that part of duty where you need to review, analyse, do some paper works and documentations.
What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?
Keep focused and with presence of mind at all times; lots and lots of patience, because it is not a joke dealing with people needing medical care.
What unique skills do you have?
I am a computer literate and have the typing skills; I know how to drive and have a good singing voice. I enjoy manual skills like doing repairs, electronics, etc.
What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
As of this moment (and because of my current experience), my dream job would be one that will also allow me some space and be able to unwind at the end of some very very busy days. As the saying goes, "all work and no play makes a person dumb".
What are the most interesting aspects of your field?
It is the CONNECTION that I get with the patients; especially that I am dealing with them personally with their lives.
The SATISFACTION of having people appreciate so much for what you did to them in the most critical times of their lives; the happiness and joy they share to you for the care you've done.
