English and ScienceWhat type of job are you looking for? I am seeking for a teaching position for elementary/primary students. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? With my 20 yrs. experience in teaching in Philippines and 5 yrs. teaching here in Thailand,i can say i can speak in English very well.I can also speak little of Thai. What State are you looking to work in and why? If given a choice i prefer to teach in Guam.Why? to experience life the American way and grow and teach the American way. What field do you currently work in? I am now employed as an English and Science teacher in Teerasom Surat School in Suratthani,Thailand.Handling Elementary students from grades 1-6. What fields have you worked in before? I've worked in Philippines as an Elementary grade teacher,teaching English and Math and at the same time in-charge of the office files for ten years.I was also given a chance to have a part time teaching in college at Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. What qualifications do you hold? I finished Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEED) in 1987.i Passed the board exam for teachers in Phil. in the same year.(Nov.,1987). I have 24 units in master's (Master in Arts of Education ).Now i also hold a teaching license here in Thailand. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I believe both.I believe that education is the best gift we can give to our children to avoid ignorance and become a productive citizen in the future.Whatever skill one has needs to be enhanced and to develop one 's full potential of these skills is to undergo trainings w/c can be provided through formal education. Describe the benefits of working with others Working w/ others is very beneficial,first, we gained experienced how to work w/ others,second,it's a give and take relationship where in each one share their skills or talents for a common goal,third,building a camaraderie w/ other people where cooperation and unity will be practiced. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone is a self discovery.One learns to discover his/her own potentials to make his work successful.One managed his/her own time and no pressure in getting the satisfaction of the "boss". What was your worst working experience? With my 25 years of teaching i don't have any worst working experience.Of coarse in every job we may have some failures and frustrations but i don't consider them worst experiences but rather i accept them as challenges to improve my craft. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? To become an effective teacher is to give your heart to each child. What unique skills do you have? I have leadership skill.I became the president of the Filipino teachers here in Thailand (Chiangrai Chapter),I have been in-charge in office working w/ files and records in Phil. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? To teach in one of the schools anywhere in Guam. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? It is in the hands of a teacher the we develop the best professionals.Seeing them become successful and become a part of their growth for me is the most interesting aspect of my field.Specifically w/ me their teacher in primary grades whose main role is to give the best foundation in learning ,to see them proficient with the four aspects w/c are reading ,writing,listening and arithmetic is also one of the most important aspects of my field. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? I don't consider any aspect least interesting,every encounter w/ the child i handled is precious,every little achievement they have is very memorable to them and to their parents and specially to me their teacher.To my field in general everyday is a learning experience.
