I am a Project Manager and Superintendent on residential and commercial projects and I am looking for a position as a PM or Super in construction. What nationality are you? American What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English fluent and some Spanish What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Haiti because of the need they have and there is little work here in the states What countries have you worked in? Santa Domingo, Virgin Islands, Jamaica What field do you currently work in? Construction What fields have you worked in before? Environmental, and Construction What qualifications do you hold? 23 years in the industry building Homes, Condos, Schools and Libraries. I have 2 yrs of Project management from Cortland University. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider both to be necessary, but on job training cannot be beat. Describe the benefits of working with others I learn from others as they learn from me and you cant beat a good team that works together to achieve a specific goal. Describe the benefits of working alone I get to do things my way. What was your worst working experience? I has a 20 year carpenter from Haiti took a fatal fall 25ft onto a concrete slab, the shame of it was he was a great guy, father, husband and worker, a great loss for us all. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? How to manage large numbers of individuals and how to work in harmony with so many different personalities. What unique skills do you have? I am able to effectively work with Bankers, Developers, Architects, engineers and job-site workmen equally. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? To be able to build structures that make a difference in peoples lives. My favorite to date was a smaller project I did, a community development center for children and teens. We got to open the doors and see those faces it was amazing. I was also involved in opening a free clinic in St. Croix that after 15yrs being infested with mold was closed for almost two years and 3 other contractors failed to properly correct the problem, we did it. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Working with new technology, and different people on different projects you learn allot. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Reading and writing specification. What is most gratifying about your job, besides erning a living. Changing peoples lives for the better.
