Hairstylist, Personal Support Worker/Patient Care Assistant, ESL/TESOL educator, Elementary School Teacher What qualifications do you hold? Hairstylist Certification, PSW/PCA Certification, ESL/TESOL Certification and A Bachelor of Arts in Eduction. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? One cannot be more valuabe than the other. Teaching the Theory is only part of the equation. One must teach the whole person. Hands on skills are of equal value. Not every student will excell in a formal environment. It takes a variety of skills to make our future .successful Describe the benefits of working with others Team work provides a variety of techniques and personalities that will help each of us to grow individually and as a team. Describe the benefits of working alone One has a chance to perfect skills independantly by challenging oneself to improve. More opportunity to reflect on personal growth. What was your worst working experience? I cannot think of any. I have always taken employment that I found interesting and rewarding. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? People are diverse and interesting. Children are the future of us all. What unique skills do you have? I like and enjoy learning as well as teaching. My skills are not unique to me alone. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Teaching in Jacmel Haiti West Indies. I hope to relocate from Canada to live out my career years as well as my retirement in Haiti. I have a good 20 career years left in me. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Learning almost as much as teaching. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Sorry, I am an optimistic. I cannot look at anything without finding the silver lining.
