Both are important. Formal education uses to be, in my opinion, the foundations for a further development of the natural skills. As some like to say, "first you have to know the rules in order to break it"

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others enriches personal background, helps to develop social skills and networks, is often more pleasant and efective, and increases the conscience of your own responsabilities.

Maybe that is directly related to the whole other fields.
