Looking for a job in IcelandWhat type of job are you looking for? I have different qualifications and work experiences. I'm a mechanical engineer and I have a second level master in engineering of the vehicle. I worked one and a half year in Magneti Marelli, producer of hardwares and softwares for automatic engine controls. But during my studies I worked in several fields, mainly as a cook in some pubs' kitchens. Since the most important for me in this moment is to move to Reykjavik I could be content with any kind of job that allows me to live there at list until next summer. What nationality are you? There lives and studies and workes my girl. What countries have you worked in? Italy. Spain. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I don't know exactly the laws about visas to work. I think I can work in every country of the European Union. What field do you currently work in? I'm unemployed What fields have you worked in before? Second level universitary master in Engineering of the Vehicle Mechanical Engineering Degree Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both. Describe the benefits of working with others The human brain needs special conditions in order to work with the right efficience. Each person has his favourite way to work. I find really stimulating to be other persons beside me with my same motivation. They can have ideas that for some reasons I couldn't find. And the same can happen by my side towards them. I think to be part of an active team put every member in the best frame of mind to give the top of his capabilities and do it with happiness and satisfaction. Describe the benefits of working alone Sometimes a worker needs the conditions to follow a mental path without external disturbs. The concentration has its importance in obtaining a good result. What was your worst working experience? For a short period I worked as a porter. I used to download and upload trucks. It was hard, but the worst was to notice that nowadays there are still hidden areas where the dignity and in general the right of the persons are not respected at all. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Never give up the anxiety. The engagement one puts in one's job finally will give its results. It's imporant to stay quiet and no to lose the truth. What unique skills do you have? I don't know if I can use the word "unique". Of course I know I'm the kind of man that goes on working and working when he has an aim. Until he reaches it. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I have two dreams, totally different. The fist one: to become an expert in structural design. The second one: to have a something like a guesthouse, a place where being able to have guests and cook for them and have for them all the attentions required in order to allow them to have a good time. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Talking about structural design, I remember when I studied disciplines belonging to this field. I liked to imagine to be a sort of microscopic probe, able to travel along the fibres of the material and know at every moment what would be te behaviour of the examined mechanical element depend the load it was subjected to. I liked to consider myself like a physician of the structures. Talking about kitchen, I like the idea to be able to make people feel good.
