What field do you currently work in? Language teacher, teaching swahili for foreigners and in the mean time pursuing masters degree in information studies. What fields have you worked in before? Worked as language mentor at the five colleges, Amherst, MA. I translate swahili documents from Swahili to English. What qualifications do you hold? BA Languages and Linguistics Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills is vauable because if helps in interaction between the student and the teacher. It make students free in communicationg with the teacher. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others, helps in building networks, learn from their ideas and makes you think more, because of challenges they may bring up. Describe the benefits of working alone It gives a personal space to think and have one's personal stand. What was your worst working experience? When my student collapsed in the examination room, as she was the best but she had examination fever and she couldn't make it for the exam. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learned thay, my students needs to make me their friend so that they are confortable with me and we can share a lot. This makes i t easier even when they do not understand to ask me questions freely. What unique skills do you have? Painting Drawing Swimming. What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
