Online Schooling Options For Highschool?This forum post is dated 05/04/10. | Online Schooling Options For Highschool? Okay. I live in Indiana. I currently attend a public high school (name withheld) i am in 9th grade and ever since i moved to this school district ive been heavily bullied by my peers. I tried to look into switching to a school district that is a reasonable distance from my current school district however I have not had any success in my efforts and with every attempt i have come to the same conclusion that the school simply wont let me transfer. i just turned 15 at the end of march so it would be a possibility to go to the alternative school next march but in all honesty i cant see myself lasting that long with these ignorant, racist students.(please also note that the principal, counselors, and teachers have all witnessed/been informed of their actions against me. and because of the students standing on the sports teams they have refused to do anything about it) also im not sure i would be able to accommodate transportation to and from school. Ive been trying to look into any possible options and ive come to the conclusion that i would either need to be home schooled or take online schooling. since i know that my parents would not be able to quit their jobs to give me homeschooling it would most likely have to be online schooling of some sort. im not sure on the computer requirements needed for this (webcam etc.) but i know i do not have anything besides a basic gateway laptop. also my family is on a somewhat limited income so it would have to be a payment plan of some sort...and if it is ABSOLUTELY necessary then i would wait until next fall semester.....please do not warn me of the "valuable high school experience" i would be missing out on. i am very aware of this and so far high school has been a living hell for me and i have found 1 person (besides my brother and cousin who refrain from talking to me due to their social standings) who would even notice if i died and never went back so im almost positive that i would be better off not at a typical public high school.... |
