| is it ever ok to have a humurous cover letter to stand out in an application pro I live in Bloomington, Indiana and in the summer jobs become fair and few because so many of us college students go home. I had a job and was laid off the first week of summer. It has since been a month and what few places are hiring are in fact seeing a higher volume of applicants. So the competition for anything is not just between young people and teenagers, but those who are older, more experienced and who have kids. I am applying at a restaurant and need the job. I was thinking a somewhat humorous, almost pleading cover letter and a serious resume might stand out. |
