| IBM Creates 1300 jobs in Iowa www.employmentcrossing.com International Business Machines Corp, or IBM, said Thursday it plans to open a technology service delivery center in Dubuque, Iowa. The new center will create 1300 jobs in the northeast part of the state. Iowa Governor Chet Culver hyped the announcement as a sign of a positive business climate in Iowa. The service delivery center will provide operational support, including maintenance and monitoring of computer hardware and software systems, to IBM clients in the US and around the world. IBM spokesman Jim Larkin said IBM plans to employ several hundred people at the new facility by the end of the year. |
