Rad TechWhat type of job are you looking for? I am an experienced, 40 year old, healthy, single, with no children Radiologic Technologist, from Jacksonville, FL. I have current PPD, titers from blood work. I am ready to travel abroad, specifically to Iraq as Radiologic Technologist. My bags are packed and I am ready to deploy after passing a Medical/Dental exam and drug screen etc. Current ARRT license, as well as, a Florida State license as a General Radiographer. I have experience in Special Procedures, Film, CR and Digital Radiography. Trained in the PACS system used to view radiographs and share within the medical community overseas. Formal education or skills and why? BOTH. What was your worst working experience? I was put "in charge" of a Basic X-ray medical tech school college level program. I was not allowed to ensure the safety requirements were met by Director of the campus, did not want to spend the money. Needless to say, I left that company. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learned that the most important thing for me to do is take good care of my patient, AND document, document, document:) What unique skills do you have? I am highly educated, intelligent and hold dual medical certifications. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Going to Iraq, and working 11 months a year and traveling for a month, then sign a multi-year contract to work and travel even more!! What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The ability to do the job all over the world. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? It is either feast or famine, meaning, our work either is in too large amounts or have no patients to take care of at all.
