Catering or Restaurant manager seeks positionWhat type of job are you looking for? Catering Management or Restaurant Management What nationality are you? Dual Nationality: British and South African What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English and Afrikaans. English as Home language What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Anywhere in the Middle East. I have my own businesses in South Africa, but with current economic constraints I would like to look at options overseas. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Anywhere in Europe, anywhere else I am willing to apply for a visa What field do you currently work in? I own and manage a Guesthouse, As well as a trading company and a small manufacturing operation. What fields have you worked in before? I have Restaurant Management and Catering Experience, as well as experience as a General Manager in Manufacturing of Fabricated Steel products, Polyurethane products and Materials Handling Equipment What qualifications do you hold? School Matriculation,I'm qualified by experience in my other fields Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills are more important,Nothing beats experience, but Formal Education is a good grounding before gaining experience Describe the benefits of working with others Teamwork is crucial, Much more can be acheived by a team. What was your worst working experience? Being robbed at gunpoint while managing a Restaurant What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? When a problem presents itself, if you have time, then brainstorm before making a decision. What unique skills do you have? I can think on my feet, am a good organiser, and always look for solutions rather than give up What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A position where, through hard work and good planning, most everything runs smoothly. A position where I can trust and depend on co workers and subordinates, and where the feeling is mutual. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? I meet a lot of interesting people, and am constantly challenged with manufacturing challenges, which I need to overcome professionally as well as economically. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? There aren't any Why should you employ me? I'm Dynamic, driven and in excellent health.
