The United States What countries do you have a visa to work in? I have a valid passport ready. No visa yet. What field do you currently work in? I am currently the EMS Clinical coordinator for a fire and EMS training facility. What fields have you worked in before? The past three years was spent as a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Midlothian, TX. I have been an automotive mechanic and service advisor. I have some management and sales experience. I worked in real estate for a brief time. What qualifications do you hold? NREMT-Paramedic; Texas Department of State Health Services Paramedic; ACLS/PALS/BLS Instructor and Provider; Fire Instructor; Driver Operator; Basic Firefighter; HAZMAT Awareness and Operations Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills for sure. Nobody that I ever helped cared about my education, where I got it, or how. They only needed me to PERFORM. They only cared about my skills. Describe the benefits of working with others Two minds are better than one. A good group of individuals will even out everyones strengths and weaknesses for the better of the group. Describe the benefits of working alone When working alone it is all on you. No crutches or excuses. What was your worst working experience? Probably in real estate. I started working with a lot of investors because I started to flip properties (the legal way). I ended up meeting a lot of snakes and dishonest people. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Don't drink and drive. What unique skills do you have? I have just completed a well known course to prepare to challenge the CCEMT-P and FP-C tests. It isn't really unique but it may be a group of skills and knowledge that I possess that many candidates do not. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Maybe running a successful gun store. I have a license to sale firearms. It just isn't profitable. I basically just sale to friends. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The different aspects and things to deal with between every emergency. It is always different. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? CE medical training. What are your future plans for career and education? I am ready to start an RN program. I would like to eventually get a BSN and pursue a career in nursing while keeping paramedic certification.
