Thank author of this post/commentThe Louis Berger Group, one of the leading engineering development firms, is seeking highly experienced High Voltage Lineman/Electricians for World Wide Power, a power generation project. This project involves a one-year contract, and is based on one of four U.S. military bases in and around Baghdad, Iraq. Immediate openings are available.

Desired Qualifications:

• Senior-level experience working in switching operations and installation/maintenance of High Voltage Electrical Distribution Networks. Hot Glove and Bucket truck experience required.

• Experience in fault finding and rectification of Underground and Overhead Distribution Networks.

• Minimum 5 years experience with Synchronized Diesel Power Generators. 24/7 Prime Power experience required.

• Minimum 5 years experience working with live High Voltage Networks.

• Previous experience in Iraq is of advantage.

Hi i am intrested in a job overseas im 27 yrs old .Ive been working on the powerlines in the uk and southern ireland for the last 7 1/2 years .Ive worked with contract companies such as UK POWER construction where i first started then ESBI in ireland .At the moment im out of work but 4 the past 5 years ive been in kent working with FREEDOM GROUP contract to EDF ENERGY .I have been refurbing and rewiring lv systems plus 6.6kv up to 66kv powerlines. I have tickets for live lv , gennerator work connecting to dead or live lv, permit to work up to 33kv, chainsaw, mewp , nrswa supervisor (road works), polarity ticket for checking meter connections, poleclimingand pole top rescue, winch operative, atv, full clean driving licence with b+e.If u wish 2 see all certificate and can send u a copy by post or email.

I am very interested in the position posted on the internet I have been working remote locations for sevral years.

Thank author of this post/comment I have worked in the electrical utilities industry for 25 years. And in that time I have learned and am now responsible in all phases of power line work including but not limited to the construction and maintenance of power lines and related equipment both overhead and underground.

Very good pole climbing skills as well as out of a bucket or platform vehicle…

The operating of vehicles such as bucket and line trucks, production diggers, all terrain vehicles and associated equipment used to erect and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles, towers and guy wires.

Install, maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, voltage regulators, risers, street lighting, and performs rigging for heavy installations and other associated equipment as well as splice, solder and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks with rubber gloves and/or hot sticks.

The maintaining of a working knowledge of working clearances, construction standards and safety regulations. Safety is not just first, SAFETY IS ALWAYS.

The operating and maintenance of tools and equipment associated with the distribution construction and the performing of routine switching operations on distribution transformers as well as performing of other switching operations under direct supervision of area control and the switching orders given.

And I have also developed good customer relations and communication skills to better perform all the duties described above safely and efficiently while keeping the customer pleased and complete the work without incident.

I am very interested in the above post. I have worked as an Overhead Linesman for Balfour Beatty for one and a half years in Southern Ireland, Scottish and Southern Engery for six years all over Scotland, Highlands and Islands and am now currently working for Morgan Establishment contracted to EDF Energy.

My experiences include, building and refurbing 11kv/33kv and lv. I am authorised to work live with lv, can take permits to work on High Voltage Systems.

I am a good, experienced climber and Bucket Truck Operator (MEWP). I hold a 360 excavator ticket, I am also skilled in pole erecting and hold a full UK driving licence.

I am very interested in the position (Iraq, Skilled Jobs; High Voltage Lineman/Journeymen)

I have worked with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) for the past 7 years. I was also in the British Territorial Army and have done an operational tour in Iraq as an Infantry Soldier, in 2006/2007 in Basra. I have a lot of knowledge of the surrounding area from doing patrols and know basic Arabic language.

I have experience as an overhead linesman from working with SSE on building and refurbishment, faults, and have worked-on 11kv and 33kv. I am also a experienced climber and able to operate a bucket truck/ (MEWP)

Hi, I am interested in the above post.Ive worked on distribution and transmission networks in northern ireland for 7 years and have good knowledge of the installation and refurbishment for these networks. i can work on live lv and can hold permits for work on 11, 33, 110 and 275kv lines. I am an experienced climber and can also operate bucket trucks. I also have Nvqs level 2 and 3 on electrical engineering. i would be intrested in this post i am currently working in scotland with scottish power which is part of the ibredrola group. i currently work on 11kv hv power lines as a rubber glove lineman, i have been doing this for the past 2 years and have 7 years experience of working on the lines. i am fully authorised to work and switch on lv and hv systems and i also have a good knowledge of fault finding as i have been undetaking standby duties for the past 4 years.

hi, im chris white, i have 10 years expreience on overhead lines wich vary from lv up 2 400kv.

i have recently been working within edf energy in the uk.

i was a linesman then made up 2 forman with morgen est, i have my live lv, switching + linking, mewp, dead works up to 33kv within edf. i have also worked in esb and nie in ireland doing 110kv transmition foundations, assembley and erection, stringing + jumpering.

and also on distrubution on nrp schemes 11kv/33kv.

i have also been to germany, luxomburg and iceland on the transmition so i have no problem being away from home.

Hello,

My name is James Stevens I live here in the US. I am a journeyman lineman. Started right out of high school as a grunt for a local Coop. I topped out in 03 as a journeyman lineman with a contractor. I have worked distribution and transmission. I have also worked a few years as a aviation lineman working on transmission lines from helicopters. I worked with the man you may have seen on the discovery channel known as Spider. I have worked everything from maintenance to re conduct jobs in both transmission and distribution. I have worked off of hook ladders clipping in tangent and even off hook ladders doing dead ends. I have installed spacers and marker balls from helicopters from the skid and plat forms. I am very serious about looking to add more to my resume by going over seas. I would love to hear from anyone who could point me in the right direction..

I can operate buckets, diggers, boom trucks, backhoe, dozer, line-pulling machinery, winch trucks and so forth. I can dead end, splice, sag and clip, almost all types of wire from 336 to 1590.(bundle, triple). I also have operated and traveled many miles in a spacer buggy.
