Your experience About 12 years in GSM/GPRS From24 July 2009 till now: Working for –Telco Engineering as partner/Sr. engineer. Nature of work includes installation, commissioning and integration activities of the GSM and CDMA BSS products for several operators such as SLT (Sri Lanka Telecom-CDMA), Dialog Telecom, Mobitel (GSM), Suntel (CDMA) in Sri Lanka. From 10th June 05 till 15 Jan 2009; I joined Sierra Global Networks Ltd. as a Sr. Engineer, getting involved with integration activities of the GSM/GPRS and CDMA BSS products for several operators such as SLT (Sri Lanka Telecom-CDMA), Dialog Telecom, Mobitel (GSM/GPRS), Suntel (CDMA) in Sri Lanka. Analyze the OMC daily reports and attend to network faults at all sites; attend to BSS hardware and software faults (clear incorrect configuration problems) issues on drop-call, handover failures due to interference and congestion. Making recommendations to RF dept. in case of frequency-plan incompatibilities and in the presence of RF interference providing the necessary spectrum-analyzer-traces in order to retune the BTSs to different frequencies. Making recommendations for hardware expansions in case of congestion due to heavy traffic. Got involved in drive-tests using TEMS and LOMs to ascertain network inconsistencies. Respond to customer complains, investigate and resolve. Attended to the preventive maintenance of the assigned sites. Familiar with, drive test data BSS statistics, and call path trace analysis in order to troubleshoot drop calls, call failures, poor coverage, TCH/CCH congestion, handover failures, bad quality, hardware faults, link imbalance, timing advance, power increase/decrease, antenna tilt/orientation, add/remove neighbors, checking co/adj-channel interference with the use of Spectrum analyzers and involving of frequency retune.
