I am qualified in ADSL/T1/POTS, and manage an area market in Central Florida. Evaluations, Inventory, customer service as well as Senior field engineer status. Own all my own tools including sunrise ADSL testset(s), Acterna ADSL test equipment, line testing equipment, laptops and all related telco equipment for related field. German, fluent What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Iraq/Kuwait, ATT is currently downsizing contracted help due to the American economy and the CWA union negotiations of 2009. I am looking to travel where needed and experience Iraq as a civilian. What countries have you worked in? Germany, Canada, telecom.. Iraq, Saudi arabia, Kuwait, US Army M1 tanker. Telecom, ADSL,T1,POTS (plain old telephone), IT I hold a current MCSE and A+ certification from CompTIA What fields have you worked in before? Telco, IT, Management of said fields. What qualifications do you hold? MCSE, A+ Several ATT schools Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education broadens ones foundation to better prepare for skills that are accumulated through experience. Understanding that a broad education will enable a person to better grasp knowledge lost on a non formerly educated individual. Humility is key to this. Describe the benefits of working with others Teamwork and accumulation of experience leads to better problem solving and high moral while maintaining good efficiency. Describe the benefits of working alone Productivity if able to conduct said work with discipline and professionalism. What was your worst working experience? Working as a paperboy directly after my exit term of service from the Army after Desert story, part time while in School. It was not a good experience but it did teach me well needed humility. I am a better worker, manager and person for having had to learn humility. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Very simple. People need to be treated with respect. If you can not respect a person by: listing to them without interruption you can not honestly grasp what it is they mean but may not say., What unique skills do you have? I am a computer geek and am very skilled in troubleshooting problems with electronics. I have build 2 homes by myself, gained a general contractors license in the state of florida for such purpose and also opened a Construction company to that end. I have obtained many marketable skills throughout the course of my life. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Being a lead technician at GNOC, Atlanta GA (Global Network Operation Center) Starting my own Telco company. Fry cook on Venus What are the most interesting aspects of your field? People. I deal with individuals. Customers, tech's. Dealing with people and understanding how to solve these mundane problems and doing so with respect is very interesting to me and satisfying. I also very much enjoy the technology itself. Understanding that new services roll out almost yearly and how they are implemented thoughout the world shapes our planet. I am very excited to be a part of that change in our world. This makes me feel like I am making a difference and not insignificant to the cause. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Bureaucracy and red tape. Sometimes the right thing is not what the rule book calls for. Knowing how to do right by the customer, end user, field technician while maintaining my position is sometimes frustrating to say the least. Why do work in this field? This is what I was born to do. I am a people person with a strong moral compass and highly motivated to succeed. I very much enjoy helping people. This work helps everyone. People are always very happy when you provide them with internet, telephone, T1 etc. These are services that people not only need, but actually at the tech level, appreciate greatly when you are onsite making it happen for them.
