Legal Finance or trade Related

Jamaican

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English Very Fluent

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

North America or the Caribbean

North America I have always wanted International experience in a developed country as an ultimate work experience to see how well I would acquit myself and the Caribbean I am already familiar with systems

What countries have you worked in?

Jamaica

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

Canada and would be able to obtain a work permit

What field do you currently work in?

Legal commercial law in a development organisation

What fields have you worked in before?

Law / Prosecuting /Banking /Aviation /Family matters/ an as an Ombudsman

What qualifications do you hold?

Bachelor of laws LLB Certificate of Legal Education CLE 26 years professional experience

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Formal education is important as it trains the mind and broadens one perspective on many things. It allows one to use research skills and acquaint one with other areas of expertise.One appreciates the rationale of why things are done a particular way. However I would not want to down play the value of skills in any job process.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others fosters strong team spirit as organisational goals becomes the focus and emphasis is taken off self.Camaraderie is enhanced and the sense of satisfaction shared in team play is always the fines that can be experienced by humanity in any common good.

Describe the benefits of working alone

You set your pace . Carve and delinate your personal record. The sky is the limit. You push yourself to the point of greatest satisfaction and achievement.

What was your worst working experience?

To be in a situation where I was constrained and could make no tangible difference.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

that your greatest strength lies with a well motivated team all committed to the same goal.

What unique skills do you have?

I always seek and find solutions. I am extremely people oriented and as such coupled with my legal background I am able to motivate persons to excel.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Working in a large international organisation that transcends many countries and cultures where I may make an input which will make a difference either how we treat with people or better humanity somehow.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The ability to solve problems and help persons achieve. The vast interaction I have with people and the diversity of experience I have daily.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Mundane issues of corporate governance

Can Corporations effectively balance profitability and genuinely commit to maintaining the environment..

Yes. It has to be a global concentrated effort. Recognizing that human capital is the singular most important component on the earth and all nations must be enabled economically.
