Looking for a Hairstylist job in a resort

What type of job are you looking for?

I am an American hairstylist looking for work in resorts in Jamaica. I have 10 years experience. I have been a manager, assistant manager, receptionist, and stylist. I am currently planning on moving there in the next year. I am hard working, dedicated, talented, smart, and I have great customer service!

What nationality are you?

Native American

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

english

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Jamaica. I am moving there to start a life with the man of my dreams in one of the most beautiful places on earth!

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

USA but if i get a job in Jamaica I can apply for a work visa until we are married

What field do you currently work in?

Cosmetology

What fields have you worked in before?

food service (waitress, cocktail waitress, bartender), nanny, and cosmetology

What qualifications do you hold?

US Cosmetology License

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

both have different qualities. Formal education is valuable because it teaches you the correct way to use your skills. Skills, if you have them, can be valuable if there is a high call for that skill.

Describe the benefits of working with others

You learn that everyone is different and to accept people for who they are. Working with others helps the community know eachother and grow.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Everything is done the way you want it to be done.

What was your worst working experience?

I worked for a hair salon that was hiring unexperienced people who didnt want to learn. I got burnt out fixing everyone else's mistakes.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Accept the fact that everyone is different and respect them for that. I learned how to work well with all types of people who are very different.

What unique skills do you have?

I cut, color, highlight, perm, style, creative design, do extensions, and I have never met a stranger! I have great customer service as well

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Owning my own hair salon

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

you can make people feel better and you can totally transform someone.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

repetition
