Construction contractor, carpenter, construction supervision What qualifications do you hold? 40+ years in construction work doing housing, bridges, high-rises, flat work, slabs, finish work in resort industry and housing Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? In the construction industry both are equally important.....I use my formal education to plan and estimate a project and then use my skill and vast experience in the trade to do the construction, and do it safely Describe the benefits of working with others It takes a team; the construction crew, supervision, etc., are all part of the team.......Mutual respect for each other is most important Describe the benefits of working alone In many of the phases of construction, it calls for a single person job, task, or activity, therefore being able to work alone can be advantageous What was your worst working experience? In my work experience, there have been some ups and downs, but I enjoy my career immensely over the years. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Think a job out!!! Measure three times; cut once!!! Eliminate mistakes............ What unique skills do you have?
