What type of job are you looking for?

I worked on Jihnston Island at the end of the 1980"s and would live the opportunity to do so again. I worked in the Maintenance Department as a Plumber and also worked in the Boilers Department to fill in for personel on Vacation.

What nationality are you?

What field do you currently work in?

Facility Maintnenace Plumber.

What fields have you worked in before?

Facility Maintenance Technician working with Acid and HF Waste treatment, UPW, House Vavuum and Process VacuumSystems. I have also worked on the HVAC and Mechanical systems. I currently work in the Plumbing trade.

What qualifications do you hold?

BAT Certification. I am waiting to sit for my Plumbing License.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I belive that a formal education is very important and hope that all could achieve more education. But I also know that not everyone learns at the same pace and some are more hands on.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I enjoy both working with others as well as working alone. I feel that everyone has somthing to teach and to learn.

Working alone gives you time to really think the jobs through and make safe decisions to complete task.

What was your worst working experience?

My first working experience was working with my father at a very early age. He was a plumber and taught me the importance of hard work and the importance of the formal education.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Listen to everyone. You can't have too much information.

What unique skills do you have?

I have great people skills. I know how important customer service is. I treat every person and job equal. I know how to prioritize my day and to multitask.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Working in a good team invironment where everyone has the respect that they have earned. I love to improve systems and effieciency. I also enjoy to making every job easier. I feel that the jobs that are easier to do will most likly get done. It may take time to improve a system but once your there, your there.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

System's that require attention or have been neglected due to the time or effort it takes to do the jobs. These are the task I most enjoy.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Working on systems that no one wants to improve because it's at there comfort level and they would prefer to keep as is.

What is the purpose of your job search.

I am currently employed and would like to see if the perfect postion is out there.

HIGHLIGHTS OF QUALIFICATIONS

7 years experience with installation and maintenance of potable and waste water systems in Commercial of Industrial plumbing, mechanical, heating & air-conditioning and residential systems. Hardship plumbing and maintenance contract on the South Pacific Island of Johnston Atoll for the Department of Energy, performing operation & maintenance of the plumbing, mechanical & boiler systems, also responsible for fuel transfers of JP-5, Diesel, Mogas, & LP from incoming fuel tankers.

17 years experience of daily control room operations, responsible for monitoring, manipulating field devises, and Fire Life Safety Systems as well as direct technicians to locations throughout the facility, via a monitored out of spec. situation or a phoned request.

5 years working with Fujitsu Microelectronics Incorporated, working compressed shifts as a HVAC / mechanical technician, logging all related equipment, performing operation & maintenance, predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and making repairs to related systems. Performed cylinder changes to high purity gas systems. Coordinated and worked with inspectors during annual boiler and pressure vessel inspections. Inspected and witnessed factories start up of HVAC equipment for acceptance prior to shipment to Fujitsu.

7 years as trade team lead over Fujitsu’s UPW / WWT (AWN/HF) team, overseeing team projects, coordinating and conducting monthly team meetings and assisting team members in completing projects and goals. Working with engineering and management keeping the team current with ISO and continuing changes to SOP’s. And as a technician, performing operation & maintenance, predictive and preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and making repairs to all related equipment as well as reverses osmosis cleanings, regeneration’s on resin beds.

Brought new systems on line working with engineers and contractors to complete facilities inspections and acceptance transmittals and training on new systems during start up. Decommissioning and securing of out dated UPW/WWT equipment. Over seeing contractors during new installations. Coordinating and produced a new reverse osmosis cleaning procedure which has greatly reduced cost in the cleanings of reverse osmosis systems, cost savings consist of less frequent cleanings which has reduced chemical usage and labor while improving the delta. And the implementation of utilizing in house technicians for resin and carbon bed change outs eliminating the need of outside sources, cost savings consist of eliminating contractor labor.

Currently working at SEH America as Group lead for the In-house Construction Team (ICT). Responsibilities include Coordinating the daily work flow for the team. Working with Engineering, Vendors, inside and Facilities Maintenance to complete the work on schedule. Also responsible for Plumbing PM’s which include the Chemical and Fire systems. Responsible for placing bids with the in house engineers and area managers to compete for in-house work. Performing work in-house eliminates the need for contractor labor helping to keep cost low.

UPW/WWT Lead Technician - Fujitsu Microelectronics Inc. Gresham, OR. 5 /95-7/02 Responsible as a RO/DI / WWT technician in operation & maintenance of wafer fab support of RO/DI, AWN and HF neutralization systems.
