I believe both complete each other, when you learn theories you get the knowledge but you must apply them to gain the skills, but still some times it works when you learn in the field and keep improving your skills.

working as a team is very important to get the tasks distipution more organized and reduce the load on each one. Also it helps more in getting things done on time.
