Well experienced nurse looking for a job, British citizen What type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a job as a staff nurse in an acute medical ward. What nationality are you? British What languages do you speak (and at what level)? Fluent in English, Fililpino, basic Arabic, Basic German What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Amman Jordan,as I have been there last year, 2009 I like the people,food, scenery and the beaches in Jordan and most especially a change of weather from a four season country(UK)to a warm place in Jordan. Acute medical ward which covers all aspects of care in nursing:diabetic, cardiac, neurology,gastroenterology, elderly from 75 years old, respiratory, patients with Dementia, Parkinsons, Alzheimers,and Multiple Sclerosis. What fields have you worked in before? I was a Clinical Instructor teaching Nursing Students in the Philippines, and a Staff Nurse in General Ward in the Philippines and in Kuwait What qualifications do you hold? I had 18 units of Masters Degree in Nursing and I graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing both in the Phillipines and currently a qualified Mentor to Nursing Students in UK Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I believe that in order to be a competent nurse practioner I should have a good theoritical knowledge to develop and practice my practical skills.All the trainings I had in my years of being a nurse gave me dexterity/competencies Describe the benefits of working with others I find it very helpful to talk to patients to relate with them and to let them feel I am not only interested with their medical problems but most importantly to take care of them as a person. I also find it takes special attributes to be able to talk to patient's relatives. Through years of working with colleagues of different cultures and tradition, I have learned to adopt and respect their individualities. Describe the benefits of working alone I think if I would work on my own, I don't have to rush or meet a deadline to do something. I would have the freedom to work at my own time and pace. I do not have to answer to anybody but myself when it comes to work responsibilities. What was your worst working experience? Working in a Clinic. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learned that "once you a become a nurse you will always be a nurse". What unique skills do you have? I am good in teaching because I love teaching as part of my nursing job. I am very competent in inserting intravenous canulato patients who is hard to be canulated. My ability to speak four languages.
My dream job would be working in a place where a beach is just a short distance away from where I work and watch the sunset during my days off. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Meeting people from all walks of life,with different culture and traditionsand be able to meet and deal with their diversities. Taking care of patients with dementia. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Escorting patients to be transferred to another hospital in an ambulance.
