I am looking to work in Amman, Jordan. I recently took a holiday in Jordan and became enamoured with the beautiful scenery, vast diversity, and the friendly, hospitable people. I felt connected with the whole experience and would love to have the opportunity to return and experience the country on a long-term basis. I have a passion for travel and to be able to combine working in tourism in a country I love would be a dream come true. What countries have you worked in? Canada, Australia. Formal education or skills and why? I consider skills more valuable as it truly shows who the person is and what they have to offer in real life situations. I don't believe that having a formal education necessarily qualifies a person for a job as there are many more facets to a job than having an education. Describe the benefits of working with others I believe that it is people which makes life rich and fulfilling. Having the opportunity to communicate and interact with others is what I believe to be the most valuable and necessary skill that one needs in life. It gives people a sense of belonging, community, and a common sense of purpose which I think is necessary in order for people to be happy. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone can allow for one to be able to accomplish more without any interruption, and to remain focused. Also, for some people, they are more comfortable working alone so this can be a benefit. What was your worst working experience? I worked for a company that was family run by a mother and son. I enjoyed the work but I found the mother and son mistreated people and were extremely rude and unkind. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt that in order to be happy in your career, you must find oppportunities that are true to who you are. That is working with the people and environment that most reflect the common values and interests that you have. What unique skills do you have? Strong reading, writing and spelling skills Skilled typist Active in sports Passion for cooking Excellent communication and organizational skills Oil painting What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to be a tour leader. Working with a tour guide to facilitate all logistics and ensure that people get what they paid for and that they have a good time. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? - having a lot of interaction and communication with people - having a variety of tasks - being able to organize events - fun!
