I am looking for a teaching or training job as I have exerience teaching regular children, Deaf children and teacher training in special needs education. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English, Kiswahili, Kenyan Sign language and Kikamba: all fluent. What State are you looking to work in and why? Any state as i do not work in the USA as at now. I live and work in Kenya. What field do you currently work in? Education: Special education. I lecture at the Kenya I nstitute of special education. What fields have you worked in before? Sales and marketing for a pharmacy, Education. What qualifications do you hold? Bachelor of education (Special education and Kiswahili) Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills. because these lead to delivery of service. Actually education should be geared towards providing skills. Describe the benefits of working with others Sharing experiences, team work and a motivating and conducive work environment. Describe the benefits of working alone Better concentration with less interruptions. What was your worst working experience? Being given a class of Deaf students to teach for the first time before I acqired sign language skills. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? To learn from the environment I find myself in at any one time. What unique skills do you have? Sign language intepretation. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Being a speech therapist. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Using sign language on a day to day basis. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Coming up with signs for new concepts in collaboration with the Deaf people. What are your favourite hobbies? Swimming, playing basketball and reading motivational books.
