Eligible Nationalities all Expert 1: Highways Engineer – Senior Category (40 days aggregate total input) Qualifications and skills: Must possess at least a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or transport related engineering discipline and be an accredited member of an internationally recognized professional body; or equivalent professional experience of at least 20 years. General professional experience: Minimum 10 years of combined international postqualification experience in the areas of road design, tender preparation/assessment and construction management of major highway contracts. Specific professional experience: Extensive knowledge of works contract procedures including preparation and assessment of contractual claims and dispute resolution is essential. Working experience as Resident Engineer on major donor funded highway projects as well as previous experience with technical audits is highly desirable. Expert 2: Materials Engineer – Senior Category (40 days aggregate total input) Qualifications and skills: Qualified civil engineer with at least a Masters Degree and registration with recognised professional institution; or equivalent professional experience of at least 20 years. General professional experience: At least 10 years combined international post-qualification experience in road pavement design, construction compliance and performance testing/assessment techniques. Specific professional experience: Must have proven experience and extensive working knowledge of latest analytical asphaltic pavement design procedures and laboratory testing. Conversant with Superpave asphalt concrete and Marshalls mix design procedures. Practical experience and competence with use of Falling Weight Deflectometer, Benkelman Beam and Bump Integrator equipment, including equipment calibration, evaluation and interpretation of results. Expert 3: Quantity Surveyor – Junior Category (40 days aggregate total input) Qualifications and skills: Must possess a relevant Masters Degree and be an accredited member of an internationally recognized professional body; or equivalent professional experience of at least 10 years. General professional experience: Minimum of 3 years of combined international postqualification site experience in measurement of major road works contract including bridge structures. Specific professional experience: Must have extensive experience in highway construction measurements, preparation of payment certificates. Experience with assessment of claims related measurement submissions would be considered an advantage. Special features for all Experts: • Previous working experience in developing countries, and preferably in Sub-Saharan • Africa is highly desirable. • Excellent knowledge of English. • Excellent report writing and communication skills. • Excellent computer skills.
