Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I believe in the both of them because through formal education ,one acquires necessary knowledge as well as skills. Present day curriculum inco-operates both of them, a fact that renders them inseperable. They almost entirely depend upon each other. Skills are important in that despite having the knowledge, the techniques of doing the job must be learnt by doing it practically thus what we call on the job training. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others or rather team work is a very important aspect in every working environment. It helps provide quick service delivery to the clients. It also helps in completing of work on time. Colleagues are also able to give you ideas on how to go about a certain task and complete within the required schedule thus getting more skills and divergent ideas. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone is also important in that you are able to take responsibilty on every outcome. Avoids wrangles between colleagues, you are also able to plan for your work without having to wait for others who may be late and drag you down. It also helps build ones self esteem and self confidence. What was your worst working experience? Serving a client to the best of my capability and following the right procedure only to the customer to complain to my superior that the work wasn't done well. My boss acted against me on the spot serving me with a warning letter. A week later the same client came back and demanded to know what action was taken against me and he was told of the warning. To everyones surprise, the client said he was only doing some research on how managers react to complaints. He was very sorry and demanded that the warning letter be withdrawn. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Being hospitable to guests at all times, being in knowledge of other facilities and services offered. When a complaint arises that i cannot handle or is above my mandate, always escarlate it to my superior immediately and i should always make a follow-up with the client if his complaint was handled well to his satisfaction. Always listen carefully to instructions and make necessary notes for further reference and always ask for clarifications to be sure. What unique skills do you have? I can sing and dance in a choir during special functions. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to be a manager in Hotel and tourism, but am also willing to accept a position in an exciting new field that i have not yet had the opportunity to work in. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Meeting new people from around the globe with divergent cultures, customs, beliefs, religious backgrounds and tenets. Relating well with them and offering them services as required. Language barrier is also an experience that i came across whereby some guests could visit (Hilton Hotel) where no one could understand their language neither would they speak even a little English, but always a solution was always given out. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Doing the same job for a long period of time without any chances of growth. Why do you think you are the best candidate? Having worked in a hospitality industry and with all the trainings on customer service satisfaction that i've undertaken , i believe i have the knowledge, skills, experience and the willpower to undertake any challenge.
