I am a Kenyan and am looking for a job in Tourism especially in Mombasa. I am currently working as an Event Organizer with Ground Up Entertainment. Some of my duties include Meeting with sponsors and organizing committees to plan scope and format events, to establish and monitor budgets and to review administrative procedures and progress of events, Prepare programs and promotional material and publicize events, Negotiate contracts for services, approve suppliers’ invoices, maintain financial records, review final billing submitted to clients for events and prepare reports.
Before joining Ground Up Entertainment I was a lecturer at Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (NIBS) in the Tourism & Hospitality where I taught the following subjects: All Tourism Subjects (Dip. In Tourism & Business Studies ICM), Tour Guiding, Cabin Crew, Marketing (ABE/ICM), Introduction to Business (ABE), Customer Service (ICM) among other subjects.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Management Option) from D.A.V.V University, India. Some of the subjects I covered include Marketing Management, Financial Management and Human Resource Management. I also hold a Masters Degree in Tourism Administration from Pondicherry Central University, South India where I covered Marketing Management as one of the units.
I have undertaken in-service training at Safari Beach Hotel (4 Star), Nairobi Safari Club (5 Star) and Kenya Wildlife Service (Tourism Section). In all this organizations I have had an opportunity to train in the Marketing Department.
