Decision making is easier since there's no time to argue in consultation with others, freedom of decision independence.

Failure to get a job after struggling to pass my exams from an hospital bed.

Hard work does not guarantee success, it only reduces your chances of failure. You could be working hard yes, but in the wrong direction.
