I am presently employed as a Senior Radiographer (MRI) in Northern MRI which is based in Malone Private Clinic in Belfast. In Northern MRI we work as a small team offering a service for neurology, musculo-skeletal, abdominal, oncology and paediatrics. The magnet is a Phillips Intera.

Previously I was employed as Superintendent 3 Radiographer (MRI )in Antrim Hospital. In this post I formed part of the Project Team overseeing the planning and organisation of a new MRI department which opened for scanning in June 2004. From my appointment to post on 8th December 2003 until our first patients came through the department, I was responsible for putting in place the necessary policies and protocols and operational outlines required for a fledgling department. My main responsibilities included maintaining a strong clinical commitment whilst liasing with Radiologists and Clinicians to ensure the provision of a quality MRI service. This involved a high standard of personal work whilst also being part of a team. I was involved in setting up an acceptable vetting and appointment system and providing a patient satisfaction survey.

My scanning experience in Antrim included neurological, musculo-skeletal, oncological, abdominal and paediatric. The magnet was a Siemens Symphony 1.5T.

This experience broadened and enhanced my previous MRI skills obtained whilst working in Musgrave Park Hospital, the main orthopaedic centre and Belvoir Park Hospital, the main cancer care centre for Northern Ireland.
