Seeking Employment in Liberia My name is Tonda Lynnette Collier and I am writing to you to express my sincere interest and desire to see employment in Liberia.I am currently employed at 3M Company in St. Paul, Minnesota as a Financial Analyst. You are probably asking yourself why I would want to leave my position at 3M and move off to a foreign country and start over. Well, I believe that life is too short to miss out on positive changes, challenges and/or extraordinary opportunities. Working fin Liberia would be an honor. Leaving a company like 3M only to replace it with the opportunity to move to a new land that is rebuilding is an opportunity very few people could pass on. I would like to give you some personal background and perspective as to who I am and why I am seeking out the opportunity to work and live in Liberia. I am an American citizen, born and raised in Gary, Indiana. I attended Florida A & M University where I graduated with honors in August 1990. During my studies at Florida A & M, I was granted 3 opportunities to intern at 3 Fortune 500 Companies (3M in St. Paul, MN; Phillip Morris in White Plains, NY and Dow Corning in Midland, MI) All three companies provided unique experience and exposure to Corporate America. After careful thought and consideration, I chose 3M Company. I have worked for 3M Company for the 15 years since I graduated from college. I have held various positions including Supervision in the Finance/Controllers Organization primarily in the area of Manufacturing. Working in and with various people is where I have found the greatest joy in my career. I have work with numerous 3M Manufacturing plants/facilities providing financial counsel to the 3M Financial & Manufacturing Counsel to facilitate better decision making and increased 3M profitability. My duties/responsibilities have ranged from interpreting, auditing and analyzing financial data to providing financial counsel and guidance. This includes but is not limited to preparing and analyzing product manufactured unit cost comparisons and analysis; analyzing and completion of financial justification of authorization of capital expenditures; forecasting; source of supply studies, plant closure financial analysis; inventory nalysis/control & management; production reporting systems reporting and training; product profitability and competitor analysis and trending and 6 Sigma Trained with project leadership and project implementation. I have also worked with and traveled to various 3M Manufacturing Locations in different parts of the US and the world (Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Asia and Europe). I am very open to living abroad and in not normal circumstances. I have very strong ties to the Liberian Community both here and in Liberia. I am very involved in community service work in Minnesota. I volunteer in the Liberian Community helping with Personal Tax preparation, Tutoring,Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Assisting with Job Application Completion, etc. This volunteerism brings me great joy and I know I can continue this volunteerism at an even greater level while living and working in Liberia. I am seeking a career broadening and life changing experience. I feel that living and working in Liberia will fulfill both of my desires and benefit the Liberian community as well. I will get the opportunity to do what I love and work in a country that I have adopted as my 2nd home and help rebuild & restore to it's rightful place in the world - The most Beautiful & Resourceful African Country it was and will be AGAIN! This is my goal! I will do this with or without any help, however I would prefer your help! I am very people oriented and look forward to utilizing this opportunity to educate and work with other people to help them understand their impact on the financial results and focus on key points to help LIBERIA RISE TO ITS RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD. I want to do what I can to help the world take notice that Liberia will not be forgotten or foresaken! I am writing to request assistance in finding employment in Liberia. I have very dear adopted family and friends that will help me in my transition, but I want to be able to find where the potential job opportunities are in Liberia.
