What type of job are you looking for?

Teaching English

What nationality are you?

English

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English and Fluent Italian

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Libya because I would like the challenge of helping a new nation.

What countries have you worked in?

England and Italy

What field do you currently work in?

I teach English to Italian military Air Traffic Controllers

What fields have you worked in before?

Teaching in schools and before that I worked for an aircraft construction company.

What qualifications do you hold?

T.E.F.L., and 'o' levels

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I would say skills are more valuable because although formal education gives you the right tools to work with, you have to know how to use them. But I think that experience is more valuable.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working in a group can be extremely beneficial. I have been the coordinator for a team of English teachers for 5 years.We give each other feedback and suggestions where problems might arise.We can work on projects together in order to meet deadlines and working conditions are more interesting and fun.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone you can concentrate more on your own personal ideas.

What was your worst working experience?

I cant really think of any bad experiences except perhaps when for some reason I had to leave my place of work and saying goodbye is a bit sad.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I think the most important lesson I have learnt is to be adaptable to change.

What unique skills do you have?

Well my students tell me that they really enjoy my way of teaching meaning they learn how to use the language and have a great time while they are learning. I am especially good with beginners as I like to see them grow linguistically. I also have very good coordinating skills.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

I would like to run an International Hotel.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The most interesting aspect of my job is that we as a team make up our own didactic material, tests and books which are constantly being reviewed and updated so it is never boring.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I cant think of anything at all.
