Job Title: Assistant Librarian Responsible to: College Librarian Key Accountabilities: To assist in the provision of the effective and an efficient library for students and teachers. Increased Professional Responsibilities. Computer and Internet Access, retrieval of On-line Information. ƒæ Day to day management. ƒæ Book¡¦s cataloging and classification to feed cataloging data into the system straight from the Accession Register; to update OPAC and encourage its use by teachers and students. ƒæ To maintain A & O Level Examination Papers, to update them and handle photocopy request by students & teachers. ƒæ To organize and maintain Career Library update it. ƒæ Contribute to the manage and prepare of Library Annual Report ƒæ To liaise with vendors to bring books on approval and supervise book selection by teachers. ƒæ To receive record and display latest issues of newspapers/magazines, binding & storage and binding of the back issues. ƒæ To demonstrate sustained commitment to the service and a consistent standard of excellence in customer care. ƒæ To control and check student¡¦s behavior; report any lapse in discipline. ƒæ To participate in the library enquiry Desk Rota and assist students & teachers in finding information. ƒæ Shelve Management, Shelving, Shelf reading & Shelf tidying. ƒæ Setting up library displays and maintaining the library environment. ƒæ To handle office corresponding and maintain filing system, both manual and electronic. ƒæ Provide support in the integration of information skills and technologies in the library.
