Describe the benefits of working with others
Working with others, a person gets to know how to participate within a team and how to maximise that team's potential. They also find their weak points in relation to others and learn, within a team context, how to push their boundaries. They learn how to give contstructive feedback as well as how to accept it. They also learn how to adapt their ways of working to others.
Describe the benefits of working alone
I think by working alone a person learns how to push themselves to the limit, how to be self disciplined and self motivating and how to accept their faults and learn to ask for help.
What was your worst working experience?
My worst working experience was also my best. I had a job teaching which i absolutely adored. I loved the students and the job. I had tried to further myself within that job, to take on more responsibility to be able to stay within that job for what I thought was years to come. However, after many attempts at taking on more responsibility and offering more of my help I was made redundant as two more people were employed to take my place.
What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?
I have learnt that it is extremely important to be honest with everyone you work with and to do the best job you can with the resources you have.
What unique skills do you have?
I am very good with teenagers, which I think is a large asset as many people find them difficult to deal with. However I tend to understand their frustrations and work around them and I thoroughly enjoy working with them. I also have a very analytical mind and a good eye for detail. I am very self disciplined and work very well with deadlines.
What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
My dream job would be teaching Biology or Life Skills to teenagers. I feel it would very rewarding as well as enriching.
What are the most interesting aspects of your field?
The most interesting aspet I find is connecting with an individual and learning where they come from and why they are the way they are.
What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
It can be frustrating sometimes when you cannot find a way of reaching someone and you need to be a bit more creative.
