What type of job are you looking for?

i am looking for a job that excites me, that makes me wake up in the motrning shouting eureka! about that puzzling problem that was discussed at yesterdays meeting

a job that kicks my intellect that works my brains a job where i am allowed to express myself freely and where i am involved in decision making

What nationality are you?

kenyan

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

english - excellent swahili - good

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

i dream about working in mauritius

What countries have you worked in?

kenya

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

all commonwealth countries

What field do you currently work in?

i have worked in oil/petroleum downstream for 14 years

What fields have you worked in before?

immediately after graduation, i worked in two factories as supervising engineer

What qualifications do you hold?

• mechanical engineering • petroleum shipping • petroleum trading • petroleum economics • refinery atmospheric processing

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

formal education is the backbone to career development, professional skills can not be acquired without formal education

Describe the benefits of working with others

synergy is created between the players sense of belonging amongst the team benefit of consultation

Describe the benefits of working alone

decision making is faster, because you dont have to consult no distractions, hence concentraion is better one player, therefore no bickering, disagreements

What was your worst working experience?

when my boss woke up one day and confisicated my laptop saying that i do not need it! well, i needed it for my work! so much that i had to ask colleagues to use theirs on borrow/loan1!

ps; he was a new expatriate who did not understand many things

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

stay relevant and indispensable

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

a job that involves travel a job that allows me the freedom to think creatively and innovatively a job with good perks! i.e car house medical cover travel allowance club membership etc

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

shipping. chartering of vessels form the loading port sending voyage orders to the ships master and finally the discharge activities at the discharge port. i just love ports, harbours, jetties, manifolds........

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

sitting in the office doing stock reconciliation!

What three adjectives best describe you?

independent smart (thinking and dress) resilient ( i have nine lives! )
