I embarked on my degree in Finance with the aim of self-development and being passionate about finance, I am now committed to developing a career in this field. Further to my degree requirements, I also completed two months training with the Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd. What nationality are you? Mauritian What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak creole, english and french and I am very fluent in all of them. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking to work in Mauritius itself, preferably the plaines wilhems region due to the fact that I live in Quatre Bornes. What countries have you worked in? Only Mauritius. What field do you currently work in? I am currently unemployed as I am completing my degree this coming May 2011. What fields have you worked in before? I have banked in the banking sector and I also have 2 years of experience in the Marketing field. What qualifications do you hold? School Certificate (SC) Higher School Certificate (HSC) BSc (Hons) Finance Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Well I feel that both of them have their importance in real life. You should be educated but at the same time you should have the skills to put your education in practice. Without the required skills, whatever education one has would be useless. Describe the benefits of working with others Well, I normally enjoy working in teams and I am always enthusiastic to study and learn more. Working with others gives you the opportunity to see how others react to certain circumstances and also helps you in accepting others opinion. Sometimes you can be wrong and others are here to correct you and guide you. Describe the benefits of working alone Well I preferably love to work in groups. Working alone is quite dull because you are on your own and you cannot have opinions of others in undertaking a job. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Well, the most important lesson I have learnt is that the work life is not as easy as one can think it is and you should put in all your efforts to succeed and get promoted in your working environment. You should always give the best out of yourself. What unique skills do you have? Well I have really good communications skills and I have also participated in several elocution competitions and have always been winning first prizes. I feel very at ease in front of a public and that is the greatest talents that I have. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A dream job? Well there is nothing as such as a dream job. If we want to earn goog money and lead a good standard of life, we need to work hard to achieve our goals. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Well I love finance and I would enjoy working either in insurance, leasing, most preferably banking especially in the finance sector. I have learned much from finance and I have enjoyed portfolio theories, option theories and international finance theories. I also enjoy studying the legal aspects of finance. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Hmm, perhaps it could be using the softwares but I can manage to do that too. How can potential employers contact you?
